Home postcode

The learner's home address postcode, which for adult skills determines which funding authority is responsible for them.

In full

The home postcode recorded at the start of an aim determines whether adult skills funding for that learner is national or devolved, and therefore which rules, rates and reporting apply.

It is also used for the disadvantage and area factors in other streams. A wrong postcode is one of the highest-value single-field errors in the ILR.

The rules behind this

Official requirement

For adult skills provision, the learner's home postcode determines whether their funding is national or devolved to a combined or strategic authority, and therefore which rules apply.
