An illustrative learner-level estimate, not a guaranteed college allocation. It applies the official 16 to 19 rates and formula for the academic year you choose to one student's own characteristics, and each line shows its source. DfE does not fund colleges this way: allocations use lagged student numbers and institution-level factors, including the college's average retention factor and average programme cost weighting (16 to 19 revenue funding allocation guide; funding calculation technical specification 2026 to 2027, p38). The result lists what it leaves out.
Decides English and maths funding, part of the estimate: per subject below grade 4, £418 in bands 4 and 5, £255 in bands 2 and 3, and £418 per full-time equivalent in band 1 from 150 planned hours (none below 150), the same in both years (rates and formula, English and maths funding table). A grade 2 or below with a level 2 Functional Skills pass is not counted. Leave unanswered to leave it out.
