Education and Skills Funding Agency
The agency that historically administered further education funding, allocations and assurance on behalf of the Department for Education.

The Education and Skills Funding Agency administered funding allocations, data collection and funding assurance for further education providers.
Machinery-of-government arrangements have changed over recent years and functions have moved between the agency, the department and Skills England. Older documents and system names still carry the ESFA name, so you will meet it constantly even where responsibility now sits elsewhere. Always check which body publishes the current document for the funding year you are working in.
