Scenario
A qualification is withdrawn part way through the year
A qualification the college is delivering stops being available for new starts. Existing learners continue, new ones cannot.
The situation
- Aim
- A regulated qualification being delivered to several cohorts
- Change
- The aim's funding end date passes during the year
- Question
- What happens to existing and to new learners
Constructed for teaching. No scenario in the Academy contains real learner data, and none ever will.
What is the position?
The rules behind this
The funding model recorded against a learning delivery determines which funding rules, which calculation and which reports apply to it.
A funding rule is only ever true for a stated funding year. Carrying an answer from one year into another, without checking, is one of the most common causes of an incorrect claim.
