Gateway
The point at which the employer and provider agree an apprentice is ready for end-point assessment.

Gateway is the formal agreement that the apprentice has met the requirements to attempt end-point assessment, including any mandatory qualifications and English and maths requirements.
It is evidenced, and the date matters: gateway and assessment dates drive both completion recording and the timeliness element of achievement rates.
