Prior attainment
The highest level of qualification a learner already holds, which affects eligibility and entitlement in several funding streams.

Prior attainment is recorded at enrolment and affects whether a learner qualifies for particular entitlements and how their programme should be designed.
It should be established from evidence, which may include the learner's personal learning record, rather than assumed from what the learner says at enrolment.

For starts on or after 1st August 2024, and the 'Level 3 Free Courses for Jobs' Learning Delivery Monitoring code has been returned for learners aged between 19 -23 at the start of the aim, then the learner must be earning below the earnings threshold or the learner's Prior Attainment is below a full level 3
