The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education approved apprenticeship standards and their assessment plans, and set the funding band allocated to each standard.
Its functions have transferred to Skills England. Standards, assessment plans and funding bands published under the institute remain the reference point for apprenticeships that started under them.
