Apprenticeship service

The service where employers manage their apprenticeships, approve them and release funds to providers.

In full

Employers use the apprenticeship service to add apprentices, agree prices with providers and release payment. Providers link to employers through it.

The ILR and the service must agree. Where they do not, the apprenticeship does not fund correctly and the mismatch appears on funding reports rather than in validation.

The rules behind this

Official requirement

An apprenticeship must be consistent between the ILR and the apprenticeship service. Where the two do not agree, funding does not flow correctly and the mismatch must be resolved.
