Aim type

The field that says what role an aim plays: a programme aim, a component of a programme, or a standalone aim.

In full

Aim type distinguishes a programme aim, which represents the overall programme a learner is on, from the component aims delivered within it, and from aims that stand on their own.

Getting aim type wrong changes how the funding calculation and the performance calculation treat the record, and is a common cause of unexpected funding.
