Advanced learner loan
A loan available to adults to pay the fees for eligible qualifications, repaid by the learner rather than funded through an allocation.

Advanced learner loans let eligible adults borrow to pay course fees for qualifications at specified levels. The provider is paid by the Student Loans Company against the learner's loan.
Loan-funded learning is recorded in the ILR but sits outside the formula-funded allocation, and has its own eligibility and evidence requirements.
