Delivery location postcode
The postcode of the place where the learning is actually delivered.
In full
The delivery location postcode records where the learning happens. It is used in area-based factors and in checks that delivery is where the provider says it is.
It is a different field from the learner's home postcode and answers a different question. Confusing the two produces both funding and assurance problems.
Not to be confused with
The home postcode says where the learner lives and, for adult skills, who funds them. The delivery location postcode says where the teaching happens.
Where this comes up
scenario
Adult delivery is running above the allocation
By May, adult skills earnings are tracking above the allocation. What can be done, and what evidence is needed?
scenario
Tailored learning recorded under the wrong allocation
Non-formula-funded adult provision has been recorded alongside formula-funded delivery. Two allocations, one set of records.
module
Reading an allocation statement
What an allocation is, which elements are formula-driven, which are lagged, and what to reconcile it against.
module
Adult Skills Fund: earning, evidencing and reconciling
An allocation you have to earn, with eligibility that must be evidenced before you claim, and a reconciliation at the end that can reduce what you keep.
module
Devolved adult funding: whose rules apply
The learner's home postcode decides which authority funds their adult skills learning, and therefore which rules, rates and reporting apply.

Student numbers, band, national rate, retention, programme cost weighting and uplifts. Where each element comes from, and which of them your own data controls.
