Guided learning hours
The hours of teaching, supervision and assessment attributed to a qualification.
In full
Guided learning hours describe the taught and supervised time associated with a qualification. They are an attribute of the aim and are used in funding calculations for several streams.
They are not the same as a learner's planned hours, which cover the whole programme including activity beyond qualifications.
Not to be confused with
Guided learning hours belong to a qualification. Planned hours belong to a student's whole programme and include activity that is not qualification delivery.

Planned hours do not match the timetable that is actually delivered
The planned hours recorded for 16 to 19 students do not reconcile to the timetable being delivered, so students may be in the wrong funding band.

Timetabled hours for non-qualification activity should be recorded in the Planned employability, enrichment, and pastoral hours field. In most cases, young people should be enrolled in learning that leads to: an external certificate offered by a regulated awarding organisation and approved on the DfE list of qualifications approved for funding 14 to 19 a substantial work placement to prepare them for progression to an apprenticeship or other employment a T Level

Ensure that there are no planned learning hours and Planned employability, enrichment and pastoral hours returned for T level learners, remove the hours field to clear validation

Hours Codes 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 must not be returned when returning Tailored Learning
If Tailored Learning has been returned, then Hours Type and Codes 'Planned hours for off the job training of an apprenticeship programme' (HRS 1) 'Planned hours for a T 'Level programme ' (HRS 2), 'Actual hours for off the job training of an apprenticeship programme' (HRS 3), Planned hours for off the job training due to a reduction in prior learning' (HRS 4) or 'Additional Delivery Hours' (HRS 6) must not be returned

If the Apprenticeship Financial Record 'Price Reduction due to prior learning' (AppFinRecord.AFinType = RIP and AppFinRecord.AFinCode= 1) has been returned then the Hours Type and Code 'Planned hours for off the job training due to a reduction in prior learning' (HoursType = HRS and HoursCode = 4) must be returned
