T Levels

T Levels are two-year, level 3 technical study programmes for 16–19 students, equivalent to three A levels. They are funded through the 16–19 national funding formula in a high band reflecting their size, and include a substantial industry placement.

Programme structure

A T Level combines a technical qualification (core knowledge plus an occupational specialism), an industry placement, and the relevant maths, English and digital requirements. The large planned-hours total places students in a high funding band.

Industry placement funding

Additional funding supports the delivery of the mandatory industry placement, recognising the cost of employer engagement, placement brokerage and student support over the 45-day minimum.
